Therapy for College Students & Young Adults
You’re figuring out who you are while trying to keep up with everything else.
College and young adulthood are supposed to be exciting, but that doesn’t mean they’re easy.
Between classes, relationships, family expectations, friendships, work, finances, and trying to figure out what comes next, it can feel like you’re constantly trying to keep up. Maybe you look like you’re doing fine from the outside, but internally, you’re overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, or questioning whether you’re doing any of this “right.”
You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to ask for support.
I provide therapy for college students and young adults who want to feel more grounded, confident, and connected to themselves.
Maybe you’ve been feeling…
-
Anxious, overwhelmed, or constantly on edge
-
Burned out from school, work, or trying to do everything
-
Stuck in overthinking or worst-case-scenario thinking
-
Like you’re falling behind while everyone else seems to have it together
-
Unsure of who you are or what you want
-
Lonely, even when you’re surrounded by people
-
Drained by friendships, dating, or relationship stress
-
Pressure to make the “right” decisions about your future
-
Like you’re never doing enough
-
Disconnected from yourself or going through the motions
-
Depressed, unmotivated, or emotionally exhausted
-
Struggling with perfectionism or people-pleasing
-
Carrying experiences from your past that still affect you today
Therapy can help you understand those patterns and begin creating something different.
You deserve a space where you can show up as you are without having to perform, explain everything perfectly, or have it all figured out.
Our work can help you better understand why you feel and respond the way you do, while developing practical tools for navigating what’s happening in your life right now.
Depending on your needs, we may work on:
-
Managing anxiety and overthinking
-
Building healthier boundaries
-
Improving self-esteem and self-compassion
-
Navigating friendships and romantic relationships
-
Understanding attachment and relationship patterns
-
Processing trauma and difficult past experiences
-
Reducing perfectionism and people-pleasing
-
Managing academic and career stress
-
Developing healthier coping skills
-
Adjusting to college or post-college life
-
Exploring identity, values, and what you actually want
-
Feeling more comfortable and confident in who you are
Trauma & EMDR Therapy for Young Adults
Sometimes what looks like anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or difficulty in relationships has deeper roots.
Past experiences can shape the way you see yourself, respond to stress, and connect with other people... even when you logically know that you’re safe now.
As a trauma therapist, I help young adults identify and work through experiences and patterns that may still be influencing their lives today. When appropriate, I incorporate EMDR therapy to help process distressing experiences, negative beliefs, and emotional triggers that continue to feel stuck.
The goal isn’t to erase your past. It’s to help your past have less control over how you feel about yourself and how you live your life now.
You Don’t Have to Have Everything Figured Out
This stage of life comes with a lot of uncertainty. You’re making decisions about relationships, careers, independence, and who you want to become... often while comparing yourself to everyone around you.
Together, we can work toward helping you feel less overwhelmed by your thoughts, more secure in your relationships, more confident in your decisions, and more connected to the person you’re becoming.
My office is located in Athens, Georgia, and I work with college students and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, and the pressures that often come with this stage of life.
Whether you’re adjusting to college, approaching graduation, starting your career, navigating relationships, or simply trying to figure out what comes next, therapy can give you a place to work through it without judgment.
